IDO Security Completes First Order by Thailand Royal Navy for the MagShoe™ 3G
MagShoe(TM) 3G Installed and Operating at Utapao International Airport in East of Thailand
PARIS–(Marketwire -10/19/11)- IDO Security, Inc. (OTC.BB:IDOI.OB - News) developer of the innovative MagShoe™ shoe scanning device (SSD), today announced that it has completed its first order of its new MagShoe™ 3G series by the Thailand Royal Navy to supply and install shoe-metal detectors systems in its airports throughout Thailand.
Utapao International Airport in East of Thailand is the first military airport in Thailand that has installed the new MagShoe™ 3G shoe scanning device. Utapao airport is a joint civil-military public airport, approximately 90 miles (140 km) southeast ofBangkok, about a 45 minute drive from Pattaya, Thailand’s most popular beach resort. It also serves as the U-Tapao Royal Thai Navy Airfield, home of the Royal Thai Navy First Air Wing and it is the home of a large Thai Airways maintenance facility, servicing that airline’s aircrafts as well as those of other customers.
“Exhibiting our newest MagShoe 3G earlier this year in Thailand has resulted in our first major order in Thailand and we are privileged to be chosen by the Thailand Royal Navy as the shoe-metal detector system of their choice which will complement their existing security system in their airports,” stated Dani Werber, International Marketing manager for IDO. “The units have been installed and are fully operational and we anticipate receiving additional orders for other locations on behalf of the Royal Navy.”
During the tourist season, the Utapao International airport is a very active gateway to the eastern region of Thailand and as such, thousands of passengers travel through its gates daily, making it one of the busiest airports in the country with overcrowded check points. Such scenarios are exactly what the MagShoe™ address; the ease of pressure at the check point, making the security process at the check point a much smoother one, both for security staff and for passengers and at the same time increasing security.
“We continue to see strong interest for the MagShoe 3G among Thailand’s Homeland Security and Loss Prevention officials and we believe this initial install of the units will generate additional orders for units in other airports as well as tourist related venues,” stated Mr. Kittichai Smittinet, Managing Director at Apple Scientific Co. (www.applescientific.com), the Company’s agent in Thailand.
Since its launch late last year, the new MagShoe™ 3G was installed in a number of facilities worldwide including airports and prisons in Europe and the Far East.
